Nach 52 Wochen ist nun das Projekt Be-Still 52 von Kim Klassen beendet.

Es war sehr interessant und lehrreich, jede Woche ein Still-Leben zu fotografieren,

das Foto in Lightroom und Photoshop zu bearbeiten

mit Presets und Texturen von Kim Klassen.

Now Kim Klassen's project Be Still 52 has come to an end.
It was very interesting and instructive to create and photograph
a special still-life every week and to process the photos in Lightroom and Photoshop

Be Still 52 - Stillness

Be Still 52 - week 50  with Kim Klassen photography class

We draw close to the end of the Be-Still year. Only two more weeks to go with this project. For week 50  Kim says
... a gentle pause ..... time to simply BE ..... in whatever we create.
I revisited my Be Still images and I must say I enjoyed them very much! I have so many favourites! And I feel happy, to see what  I've learned during the past 50 weeks. I celebrated for me by creating a Be-Still calender, which will enjoy me for twelve months.

Be-Still 52 - Coffee & Change

This week we are asked to take a top down shot with coffee and some change .... with this theme I was  not quite happy ..... how should I make a story and which additional accessories will suit.

The prompts for this week are to find and use creative vessels for our stills ....


Fantastic prompt! First of all I realised an idea I had a long time ago.
Just needed to buy some suitable flowers which fit my special tiny and unique vessel.

This here is a close shot, without any processing, so the background is the original colour.




And here I used in Lightroom preset kk-sumersun and in Photoshop some adjustments.

Be Still 52 - Typography

The assignment for week 47 is to play with typograph.

On my last shopping tour I got a lovely paper carrier bag. I think it meets just the assignment.

In Lightroom I used preset kk-slightlight and in Photoshop processed with texture kk-abstract; multiply, opacity 74%.

Be-Still 52 - A Nature Walk

Be Still 52 - week 46  with Kim Klassen photography class

The assignment for week 46 is, to take a walk in the nature ... and find some treasures. So I went in the near forest, took some captures and came home with some branches. Normaly in December we have snow, but this year it's different. Much to warm; but nevertheless it was beautiful and inspiring.

No Lightroom and no Photoshop processing; just nature.

For week 45 we got a very interesting assignment. One Thing - pick one thing and photograph it in several different ways.

I picked this lovely antique scale as my one thing.

In Lightroom I used preset kk-dreamlike and in Photoshop texture kk-0101 with some adjustments.

Be-Still 52 - Pretty Pastels

Be Still 52 - week 44  with Kim Klassen photography class

The assignment for week 44 is a capture in Pretty Pastels. Longtime I had no sun, which means very bad light. So I decided to take the photo with only dimly light. Hope to have better light for backlighting next time.

Processed in Lightroom with kk preset pastelhaze und in Phtoshop I used the texture kk-2710.

Be Still 52 - In the Crate / In der Kiste

For week 43 Kim had a very interesting idea, which I love very much! The prompt is, create a stilllife image with something in or on a crate. I collected some autumn leaves and berries and arranged them together with a lovely ceramic vase, with a beautiful result.In Lightroom I used preset kk-shadows and some adustments.

Für Woche 43 ist die Idee, ein Stilleben in oder auf einer Holzkiste zu fotografieren. Eine Weinkiste, gesammelte Blätter und Beeren und eine schöne Keramik-Vase dienten mir dazu.

Still life - Make & Take

Be Still 52 - week 41 & 42 with Kim Klassen photography class

Weeks 41 and 42 had the prompts, first to make something hand-made and than to take it in a stilllife image.

Since the Advent season is near, I decided for week 41 to cut out some stars. So for week 42 decoration, I used them for the background.

week 42 - we shall pick up what we left off week 41 and styling a few photos of our handmade props. So I decorated the background with my stars.

Due to my holidays I'm a little behind with the kk lessons. 

Week 39 - for this week we are asked for take away 4 things for an airy photo.

Unfortunately my Lightroom didn't go today, so I worked only in Photoshop with kk-texture Justatouch, once with mode multiply and once with mode screen and reduced opacity.

Be-Still Week 40

Every 10 lessons we take a week to reflect, this means to truly take some time to find stillness. Ponder, Creatively, Mastery of our Art. Regarding these aspects I enjoy to draw Zentangle tiles, which gives me much stillness and pleasure about my know how. With great pleasure I show my new Tiles on my Escara's Zentangle Blog.

I'm thinking of the season and I chose autumn impressions, to create my image.

For week 35 we should tell something about Breakfast. Surely my image shows the important things e.g. coffee.

On Spoons

For week 34 the assignment was something on spoons.

With this theme I was a little idealess. Finally I had to decide for coffee beans before or after grounded with my old coffee grinder.

How about a Drink?

Citrus is the prompt asked for this week. Any kind of citrus fruits and little story.

Since we still have summer feeling and therefore I'm always thirsty, my idea was to mix a Lemon-Drink with a little dash of Rum. So I hurried with the shooting .....  and relaxed with this cool drink.

In Lightroom I used kk-preset summersun and  in Photoshop texture kk-0603 with some modifications.

The prompt for week 32 is to play with different backgrounds.

For me, this is a neverending play, so many possibilities with the different textures are beautiful.

For week 30 the theme is Hanging Bottles

With this prompt I was not so happy, but finally I got the idea
to hang a small bottle upside my flowers on my balcony.

Processed in Lightroom with preset kk-darklight and in Photoshop I added the texture kk-kk2 to get a light vignette.
